About Rev. Ken B.
Rev. Ken B. is the son of Dick B. and the publisher who carries his father’s work forward. An ordained Christian minister with degrees from U.C. Berkeley and San Francisco State University, Rev. Ken B. worked alongside his father for 25 years and now leads Good Book Publishing Company. He keeps the 31-volume Dick B. A.A. History Reference Set and his father’s A.A. history books in print for a new generation of Christian recovery workers. For A.A.’s own history, see the official History of A.A.
Rev. Ken B., M.A., is the son of the late Dick B. (J.D., CDAAC, 1925–2015), the “unofficial historian of Alcoholics Anonymous.” Ken holds a B.A. in Rhetoric from U.C. Berkeley (1977) and an M.A. in Speech Communication from San Francisco State University (1991), and was ordained as a Christian minister in 1997. He worked closely with his dad from 1990 until Dick’s passing on September 12, 2015—editing, researching, traveling, and speaking; and co-authoring three volumes in The Dick B. A.A. History Reference Set.
Since 2015, Ken has served as Owner and President of Good Book Publishing Company, Vice President and General Manager of Paradise Research Publications, Inc., and Executive Director of the International Christian Recovery Coalition. He carries forward Dick B.’s 31-volume legacy through scholarly research and ongoing publishing—including the planned five-volume Recovery Reformation Series—and an A.A. history research assistant designed to make Dick B.’s research broadly accessible.
Ken’s mission, in his own words: “I carry forward this work because it glories GOD and His Son Jesus Christ, and honors my dad’s legacy of helping those who still suffered.” Learn more at DickBonRecovery.com.
